Thanksgiving
This week we have a great opportunity to give thanks. Yes I know the economic situations are not good for many people at this point. I realize that we still live in a violent world and bad things can happen to good people. If you choose you can find many negative things to think about or to complain about but as a believer in Jesus Christ I have chosen to be thankful as a lifestyle. Thanksgiving Day reminds us that as a nation we have been a very blessed nation. On the average we have much more then most other people.
As a believer in Jesus Christ I am thankful for His love and mercy toward me. I am thankful for a good family that has stood with me through many good and not so good times and the many moves we have made. I am thankful for God's provision for He has proved Himself faithful over and over throughout the years. I am thankful for a good church that hungers and thirst for more of God in their lives. I am thankful for what is ahead because of the promises of God assure that our best days are yet to come for those who will trust and obey. I am thankful people that God has placed in my life to encourage me, to challenge me, to just hang out together and to pray with me. The psalmist said it well in Psalm 100:3 & 4 "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."
Happy Thanksgiving and may God bless all your family gatherings.
