Defining success

On Sunday I spoke about the contrast of success in the eyes of the world verse in the eyes of God. When we are faithful to the Lord we will be successful regardless of how the world may view us. Jeremiah is a great example of someone who was faithful to the Lord but his message to the nation of Judah was not accepted and even to the point of being put into prison. There are a lot of factors that will come into action to view how a person maybe a success in the eyes of the world. There is basically one factor that come into action to be a success in the eyes of God. That is have we been faithful to that which God wanted me to do. The Lord promised to be with Jeremiah and rescue him when he was speaking forth the message that God wanted him to speak. The Lord Jesus has promised to be with us. The one thought that one want to express at this time with the truth that Jesus is with us is that one with God is the majority. God does not lose. There are many examples in the Bible concerning this truth. Elisha was on a mountain and an army was going to take him captive and his servant was very scared but when Elisha prayed that his servant's eyes would be open it was revealed that an army of God was protecting them. God never did like it when Israel trusted in foreign armies rather then trusting in Him. When we are being faithful to all that God wants us to be doing we can walk with the confidence that He is with us to protect us and to guide our steps. Faith in God's ability is essential in order for us to be successful. May the Lord enlighten the eyes of our heart that we may know and do the purposes of God in our lives.
