The prophet Haggai said in verse 2 "These people say 'The time has not yet come for the Lord's house to be built." While they were saying and living their lives this way they were very busy with their own houses, projects and making their lives better. All these things are not wrong in themselves but to do that while neglecting the House of God is the problem. It seems like today when it comes to church involvement that one of the biggest reasons is they do not have enough time. The same excuse the people of God were using during that time. I realize that people may have other excuses but the vast majority surrounds the busyness of their own lives. The thing is as well is that most people actually think these are valid reasons. We have more time saving devises today then ever before but it seems we have less time to enjoy time we save. "The right time" is really a concept of priorities. The family of Jesus once wanted Him to reveal Himself in public at the Temple but Jesus responded that for them the time is always right but it was not yet the right time for Him. The right time is all about the timing of God's will. Basically we need to learn to live on God's time rather then on our time. If we are to love God as number one in our lives then we must also make His will for our lives number one. The apostle John "The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever." I John 2:17
The time is always right to do what God wants me to do. I do not have either time or space to develop this thought to completion. The key to knowing the will of God begins and ends with our knowledge and understanding of the Word of God. God will never contradict Himself and He can be trusted. May we all walk like Jesus who fulfilled the will of God completely. Thank You Jesus.
