Lessons from sports
Today the golf world is trying to answer the question "What happened in the single matches of the Ryder Cup when America had a huge lead but Europe won?" In the world of football there are some every season surprises and the regular referees now back but still not getting calls right point to the lesson from sports today. It is unpredictable. Just when you think you know what is going to happen or which team might win something odd seems to happen. That lesson from sports is common in life. When does life go the way you think it ought to go. Things seems to be going well for a season and then out of the blue something disrupts all of life. It could be a relationship, a job situation or a health issue or an unmet expectation. Life just does not seem fair at times. The key to the unpredictable times of life is to trust in a God who is always faithful. Trusting in His Word that can be trusted. God will always love you no matter what you are going through. God is merciful and kind in His dealings with His children. The problem we have at times is we do not understand how God going to act and bring about order in my life of chaos. I cannot answer that for you on a personal basis but I do encourage you to place your faith and trust in a God who is always faithful. Trusting Him means you give Him permission to act in the ways that seems best for Him. Trusting Him also means also the timing of God is not going to be our timing which calls for patience and steadfastness on our part. Jeremiah 29:11 states that God has a plan and a hope for your future. The next couple verses are the condition to fulfill in order to see the promise fulfilled. I must seek Him, listen to Him and pursue Him with all my heart and when I do that I will find God and have clarity on the future.
May the God of all love and peace be with you.
