The danger of darkness looking like light.

Today I may say some things that you may not agree with but my purpose is to get us to think about our actions to make sure they are consistent with Jesus who is the Light of the world.  Within scripture God contrast light and darkness.  When the context is clearly speaking about spiritual things it is clear that light is connected with God and His way while darkness is connect to sin and the ways of the kingdom of Satan.  I will quoted from two verses that speak about this contrast but there are many verses in the Bible that speak to this issue.  "Do not be yoked together with unbeliever.  For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common?  Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"  II Corinthians 6:14 & "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.  Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight."  Isaiah 5:20-21  Here are some observations of present life concerning this issue of light and darkness along with the biblical understanding of the spiritual principles concerning light and darkness.  First, there is great confusion today in what is right and wrong, what is good and acceptable verses what is unhealthy and destructive.  This is happening because there are two main competing spiritual forces in the world.  Satan is called the god of this world which is referring to the fact that he is controlling many of the philosophies of this world which are stand against the biblical philosophy of how one ought to live their lives.  Romans 12:2 encourages us not to be conformed to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of our mind that we might know God's will.  Whether you want to agree or disagree that is up to you but there is a spiritual battle going on for the souls of mankind which have eternal consequences.  Satan is the god of disorder and Jesus is the God of order.  Darkness wants to bring confusion into the lives of people and when we follow Jesus and His teaching there will arise within us order and clarity on what is darkness and what is light.  Second, in our culture today everyone seems to be an expert on what is right or wrong.  In fact there are few standards by which people want to live their lives because the individual wants the ability to create their own standard.  The observation is that unless we restore a basic standard of right and wrong what is light or darkness, we will fall into the depths of cultural decay.  We will revisit the chaos of the time during the book of Judges, which was every man doing what is right in their own eyes.  This is exactly what Isaiah prophesied about over 2,500 years ago.  This is why every God fearing believer in America ought to pray more fervently for revival.  Third, within two we observe Halloween which for the worshippers of Satan is their high day for the year.  I realize that this day is celebrated by many people (adults and children) that has become a reason to dress up and receive candy.  May concern is that we become desensitized to the evils and destructive forces of darkness and devalue the importance of the light being our guiding force for all things in life.  I will allow each person to make their own decision before God.  I encourage you to make your decision based upon the teachings of scripture and not upon the cultural norm of today.
May the God of all love and peace enlighten the eyes of your heart that you may know Him.
