Something was missing on Sunday

Today I am going to share my personal opinion about missing church on Sunday due to the need to cancel church due to weather problems.  First, I delayed cancelling church even though we were under a travel warning because I wanted to go to church to worship my Savior and Lord.  Knowing people should not travel I should have cancelled earlier but my desire was to be in church.  Second, I had this uneasy feeling Sunday morning that something was missing.  It felt wrong, it felt odd and my routine was all messed up because I could not go to church.  Because of the snow I went outside after it stopped snowing and wondered is anyone would notice I was cleaning my driveway on Sunday morning.  Some of you might be thinking that I need to get a life but my life is all wrapped in my love for my Savior and Lord and to miss worship on Sunday morning is to miss part of me.  Third, I begin to think about all the people who do what I did this last Sunday every Sunday morning and wondered if they really understood at all what they are missing by not being in church on Sunday morning.  Oh some may think I am being legalistic but no I am in love with Jesus for all He has done for me and I love being with my spiritual family every Sunday morning to express my love for Jesus.  Fourth, when the day was over it was hard to think that tomorrow was actually going to Monday.  Something was seriously missing in my Sunday and I hope it never happens again.  The joy of my relationship with Jesus is found in many ways and one the big ways is my experiences on Sunday with my spiritual family.  This was my thoughts about missing on Sunday.  Hebrews 10:25 "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching."  I encourage you to commit to going to church every Sunday to worship God and experience true fellowship with others followers of Jesus Christ.  I encourage you to do whatever you have to do to keep this from becoming a routine but making is a weekly encounter with the Living Christ.  His Presence makes all the difference in a world that is quickly approaching the return of Jesus Christ.  May God's love and mercy encourage your hearts to do what is right in His sight.
