God keeps His promises

There are times that God gives us unexpected assurances that He will keep His promises.  This morning on my run I noticed something that I do not think I ever saw before.  I started the run in the dark and there was a light rain on and off during the run.  My pace was slower then normal but very enjoyable as it was getting lighter as the sun begin to rise.  As I was running toward the High School I noticed a rainbow over the school.  I do not remember seeing a rainbow in the morning before and really was quite surprised to see one due to mostly cloudy skies.  Nevertheless I enjoy looking at this rainbow as I was running past the school.  Then once I passed the school I noticed the bottom of the rainbow looked as if it would have been over my house.  At that time I sensed a quiet voice say 'I promised'.  At that point I knew the combination of when I started to run, to my slow pace, to the light rain and to the break of the skies all merged together at that one moment for God to give me an encouraging word when I needed one.  God gave Noah the rainbow as a reminder that God will keep His promise and would not flood the entire earth again.  Genesis 9:13-15 "I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sin of the covenant between me and the earth.  Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind.  Never again will the water become a flood to destroy all life."  God spoke to my heart this morning when I saw the base of the rainbow over my house.  God is speaking to you as well about His ability to keep His promises that He has given to you.  I am thankful that we serve a faithful God.  I am thankful that God continues to speak to us in many different ways.  I am thankful for the promises He has given to me on a personal basis.  I do not know the timing of their fulfillment but I do have the assurance that the God who spoke the promise is the same God who will fulfill the promise.
May the God of all truth and love give you a rainbow (does not have to be physical) today as a sign of His ability to do what He said He would do.
