The problem of disconnect

There are few spiritual principles more important to understand then that of the principle of sowing and reaping.  Yes it is important to know that life, eternal life, is found only in Jesus and that there is hope for the hopeless and so on but if someone tries to live life while being disconnected to the principle of sowing and reaping there will be a problem.  God created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them.  The Bible clearly teaches that nothing exists that has not been created by God.  Along with that creation God instituted principles by which this life was to work.  Before the fall of man the principle of sowing and reaping was found both in the natural world and in the spiritual world.  In the natural it is real easy to understand: apple trees bear apples, sheep reproduce sheep, wheat bears the fruit of wheat and so on.  What is true in the natural world is also true in the spiritual world.  God told Adam and Eve that if they eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that they would die.  The moment they ate of that tree they did die spiritually and from that moment man has been violating this principle.  Sin bears more sin, sin is rebellion to God way of doing life and doing life one's own way.  Every action in life has natural consequences attached to that action.  Within the my message on Sunday I communicated that many Americans love freedom but misunderstand how to use that freedom.  They think that freedom is the ability to do whatever they want whenever they want to do it.  On top of that they also seem to think that they can choose the consequence of that action.  This thought pattern is the problem of disconnect.  If I want certain result then I must do the right things that will produce that result.  God does not suspend the spiritual principle of sowing and reaping just because I am a Christian or that I pray for different results then what my actions warrant.  If I truly want to be free then I must do what Jesus said to be free.  John 8:31-32 "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."  Jesus also said that if you love me you will obey my teachings.  Let's not walk in a way that will disconnect us from the very things we say we desire.  Our actions and decisions today form our tomorrows.  This is the principle of sowing and reaping.  To believe anything else as a follower of Jesus Christ is to be disconnected to the truth of the principles of Christ's kingdom.  One example in closing; many Christians desire and pray for the blessings of God but are not tithing and giving.  The blessing of God which includes peace, love, joy, happiness, prosperity, wholeness, strength and God's presence comes to believers being diligent and steadfast in following the spiritual principles of Christ.  To view the blessings of God in the narrow sense that all is OK being my finances are OK or to think I lack the blessings of God because my finances are not where I want them to be is shallow and continue the problem of being disconnected to the spiritual principle of sowing and reaping.
May God enlighten the eyes of your heart that you might know Him in a greater way.
