The wonder of God is always among us. We see it in nature and all that He has made. We see it in the diversity of life. We see in in how God deals with His special creation, us. God has given to us the freedom to choose whatever we want. Life is but a series of choices and how we live and the destiny of our souls is attached to the series of choices we made day after day. This morning I was reading Hebrews 3 and once again I was reminded that faith is a choice. Hebrews 3:12 " Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God." Solomon the wisest king ever to reign in Israel said "Charge your heart from out of your heart comes the wellspring of life." Proverbs 4:23 When I get up each day I am face with a choice whether or not I will trust the Lord or whether I will do my own thing. The author of Hebrews speaks in chapter three of the deceitfulness of sin which if we are not careful will harden our hearts which can lead to rebellion against God. I have a choose this day and everyday whether or not I will place my faith in Jesus as my Lord and Savior or choose unbelief because of sin or the distractions of the world around me. The thing that often gets overlooked by many is that when I choose to trust in the Lord I am able to enter the rest of God but if I choose to do my own thing then life just got more difficult which often causes one to focus on their problems rather then on the God who can grant rest in the midst of the problems of life. The danger of unbelief is basically living a life way below our potential and to struggle to do life in our own strength, wisdom and understanding. The blessings of trusting and having faith in Christ as Lord and Savior is living a blessed, fruitful, life in the strength, wisdom and understanding of God. For me my choice this morning was to spend time with Jesus who will be with me all day who will bless me with His presence and power to live a life pleasing to God, my Creator.
May God help you to choose to believe.
