Feeling Safe

The recent news of the raise of terror in many parts of the world reveals that we live in a dangerous world.  Many are living in areas where they wonder if they are going to wake up in the morning.  If we feel that this world could not happen where we live are being a bit short-sighted and naïve.  I do not say this to cause anyone to feel they are in imminent danger but we cannot properly face the future unless we have a realistic understanding of the present.  At the present time I feel safe but I also realize that in the present of evil that can change quickly.  My point to bring that up is to ask this question: How can we feel safe in a world of danger?  The answer is simple but unless this simple answer is applied appropriately what you think is safe may not be safe.  The answer is to make the Lord God of Heaven and earth your refuge and strength.  There is no one more wise or powerful then the Creator of the heavens and earth.  There is no one more lovely and kind and merciful that our God in whom we say we trust.  Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid."  David felt safe based upon his unwavering trust and confidence in the Lord.  I can feel safe when I commit 100% of my life to the one who is stronger then the evil that surrounds me.  Part of this working out in my daily life is to keep an eternal perspective in mind rather then the here and now.   I am feeling safe not because I have a safe God but because I am placing my trust in a dangerous God who has all power.  God promised to be with His children to the very end of the age.  Though the world around me gets more evil and dangerous, I have a God that I can entrust my life who will strengthen me by His grace.
May the Creator God be with you.
