Desire to be Blessed
There are several in life that I am totally convinced of that all people want to experience. Everyone wants to loved, wants to belong, wants to live in peace, wants to have joy and happiness and wants to be blessed. You may find a rare person who does not want these things in their life but I know the vast majority of people we meet every day want that in their lives. I am sure some could easily add to that list and be correct as well. Today I am going to focus on the desire to life a blessed life. No one in their right mind wants to live a cursed life. Unfortunately for many life does not turn out the way they had hoped. It might of been an illness, a loss of a job, loss of a loved one, being falsely accused or a result of some unwise decisions of which you thought were wise at the time. The scriptures has a lot to say about being blessed in this life. Jesus taught about being blessed in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7. In fact the first twelve verses of Matthew 5 called the Beatitudes that state a person is blessed in several different circumstances. Verse 3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." This is referring to humility towards God that the one who realizes they need spiritual help are blessed. To depend upon God will result in receiving blessings from God. God cannot help someone who is full of themselves or those who know it all but God can help us when we realize we cannot make it on our own, that we need wisdom, guidance, strength and hope to continue to move forward. God also speaks about us being blessed when we obey Him and choose to do life His way, Deuteronomy 28:1-14. This basically saying when we choose to do life God's way and obey Him then we are blessed but if we choose to do life our own way then we open ourselves up to managing all the junk of life on our own. I cannot speak for you but as for me I choose to life His way. Thank You Jesus that you forgive me when I mess up after I choose to obey You and did not. There is always great blessings in forgiveness. Whether or not that forgiveness is between God and us or it is between one person and another person. True forgiveness opens the door for blessings to flow. I could say much, much more on living a blessed life. Living a blessed life is possible very possible because Jesus wants us to live a blessed life and when we trust Him as Lord and Savior we will be able to experience that blessed life.
