Kindness

The church and I have been on a journey these last several weeks that will culminate with Friend Day on April. The emphasis for this week in our reading and encouragement through 'Seek God for Your City' is to do acts of kindness towards those you are praying for and would like to invite to church on Friend Day. One of the the statement in that devotional by Steve Sjogren has cause me to think deeper on this topic. "Kindness is never accidental. It's always intentional." If that statement is true and I do believe that it is then we must give much thought to the types of acts of kindness that we want to do for someone else. In order for this to happen I must intentionally think of the other person and reduce the level of selfishness that wants to arise in my own life. We as a church have committed to love one another which acts of kindness will become a huge part of the process of loving people.
