The value of Hope

The future is uncertain and there are a variety of ways to approach the future.  Now all ways are good and healthy and some ways will help you to manage the present as well in having a good perspective on the future.  No one but God knows the future and in His word has given us some great principles to help us to face whatever may happen in the days to come.  There are many different principles I could share but for this blog I am only going to focus on the value of hope.  It would be difficult if not impossible to face our tomorrows without a sense hope in our lives.  Let's give a basic definition of hope.  Hope is an emotional and thought process that our future days are going to be better then what we have already faced.  It is having a sense that what is presently happening will get better or that which has been promised will happen soon.  Without hope it becomes difficult to live life. People will often feel depressed if they think their today will be just like their yesterday. Hope needs to be developed and fostered to remain at a level that helps people for the long haul. Hebrews 6:17-19 “Because God wanted to show His unchangeable purpose even more clearly to the heirs of the promise, He guaranteed it with an oath, so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us. We have this hope as an anchor for our lives, safe and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.” These verses speak of a hope that can be seized which is connected to the promise of eternal life that is through Jesus Christ alone. Affirming my faith in Jesus is a valuable practice to keep hope alive. I need hope, I need to have the assurance that my future is better then my today. Jesus gives me that hope and He promised to give hope to all who are willing to seize it through their faith in Jesus Christ.
May the Lord bless you with hope and strength to face your tomorrows.
