The secret to loving Jesus is not really much of a secret. I love Jesus because He first loved me by coming to live among us, dying on the cross for my sins, defeating death, hell and Satan on my behalf and then giving me His righteousness. To understand all that Jesus has done for us ought to be enough for us to love Jesus with our whole heart. Jesus said several times that if you love me you would obey my teachings. The secret to loving Jesus is to remember all that Jesus did for us that we could not ever do for ourselves and then the proof that we actually love Jesus will be in our life of obedience to the words and teaching of Jesus. There are many people to claim to love God or say that they love Jesus but their claim is not consistent with the actual life that is being lived. Jesus alone came from heaven to live among His creation. Jesus alone became man's substitute for the punishment of sin, that is Jesus died for us that we would not have to die for our own sin. Jesus alone can take our sins away and then give us in exchange His righteousness. Jesus alone rose from the dead to live in power forevermore. Jesus alone can transform a life. There is no other personality in the history of the who claimed to be the Son of God and then backed it all up with His miracles and His work on the cross. Any attempt to combine our loving Jesus with anything other religion or religious leader is a sign one does not truly understand what it means to love Jesus who alone died on the cross for their sins.
May we forsake all other and love Jesus with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
